Shelley Boyes
Founder & Chair of the Board
Shelley is a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother with a passion for helping others live the "abundant life" God has in store for them. In 2006, Shelley lost her eldest daughter to an alcohol-related traffic accident, and began a journey of healing for herself and her younger daughters. In 2012, Shelley founded Choose Life Ministry. She holds a B.A. in Psychology, a prof-A teaching certificate from the U of S, an MPA from the U of R, and certification in Biblical Counseling & Life Coaching from Light University, Virginia. In 2015, Shelley received a Women of Today nomination for "Outstanding Contribution to the Community."
Shane Boyes
Board Member & Grounds Manager
Shane Boyes wears many hats: rancher, retired oilfield chemist, marriage commissioner, RM counsellor, 4H club leader, father and proud grandpa of 7 grandkids — to say nothing of "10 feet tall, bulletproof, invisible, rich and one heck of a dancer". He is also director Shelley Boyes' husband, and Choose Life Ministry's longest standing board member. "I definitely believe it's a God thing", says Shane of the Ministry. "My role is to support Shelley in pursuit of her dream. I want to play a role of support in any way I can." Shane currently oversees the Homestead for Hope maintenance and grounds work.
Leslie Hunstad
Board Member
Leslie lives at Lake Alma, Sask. on a farm with his wife Marilyn where they raise cattle, sheep and horses. They have four children and eleven grandchildren. When he was 17 years old, he went to a movie at Beaubier Pentecostal Church called "A Thief in the Night" and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ that night. It is the best thing that ever happened in his life. He went to Bible College for 3 years and has been involved in his church ever since. He was asked to join the board of Choose Life Ministry and felt like he should and hopes he can be a blessing and encouragement to the ministry and the homestead.
Krista Meisner
Board Member
Krista was born and raised in southern Saskatchewan. She is an ordained minister with the IAOGI Canada and has spent much of her life involved in ministry, including over eight years in South Africa as a missionary, and is currently a full-time crusade organizer with GFFAN. Krista loves seeing lives transformed by the power of God. Krista and her husband Dave have been married 25 years and have 5 children ages 10-24. They run their own electrical business and also lead a home church in Carlyle, SK where they currently reside.
Gerard Fornwald
Board Member
Gerard lives east of Lampman with his wife Carol and son Michael where they operate a mixed farm. He also worked at various oilfield jobs for more than 40 years. They are very much involved in their church and are regular supporters of Choose Life Ministry.
Julie Milton
Board Member
Julie is a registered nurse in Weyburn, bringing her healthcare experience and heart for ministry to help guide Choose Life Ministry's mission.
Lee Evans
Board Member
Lee is a business man in Carnduff, contributing to the strategic direction and governance of Choose Life Ministry.
